How to add Gateway Netmask and IP address in ubuntu

To get connected to Internet, sometimes it needs to manually configure the Gateway, Netmask and IP address for wired and wireless connections.
Below is the screen shot of how to configure it in Ubuntu.

First go to System -> Preferences -> Network Connections.
The window will appear.

Select type of connection for which you want to configure the settings. Then click Add. The following window will appear.
Select your Internet protocol version (IPv4 Or IPv6). Select the method type Manual. Click on Add.
Enter your IP Address, Gateway and Netmask.

To apply the IP address to all other applications in Ubuntu.
Goto System->Preferences ->Network Proxy

Enter the proxy address and Click Apply system-Wide.
Now access the net!
